Sri Racha —

Female staff from two different bars in the Sri Racha district clashed on Saturday night, June 24th, over a customer dispute.

The incident, which was captured on a concerned citizen’s mobile phone camera and later went viral on social media, took place at 8 PM on Saturday within the Sri Racha Nakorn Housing Project in Sri Racha district, Chonburi province.

The video recording depicted a violent altercation between two groups of Thai female bar workers engaged in a physical fight. The conflict seemed to arise from an accusation of one group allegedly stealing Japanese customers from the other.

According to information revealed by local media, both involved parties are known to wrestle over Japanese customers on a regular basis. It has been reported that these incidents of verbal and physical fracas occur around 2-3 times per week. The names of the bars that these women work for were not reported by local media.

Out of fear that visitors, especially Japanese, will shy away from visiting Sri Racha, concerned citizens have urged relevant authorities to take decisive measures against these incidents.

Sri Racha police are reportedly looking into the matter.
