Help me choose a family hotel

I’ve searched the sub a lot, but still feel like I could use specific help.

In two weeks, we’ll be staying at a villa at Ko Yao Noi for a few days. We’ll then have almost three full days before flying back out of Phuket airport.

I’m looking for a place to stay that has more activities for teens, especially since it’s rainy season and we’ll have just stayed in a private residence where there’s less social stuff on hand. It’d be nice to have a pool good for swimming and some activities, like tennis, biking, fitness center, archery, movie nights–but not “entertainment” or “night life”. We’re usually turned off by the mega resorts and prefer something quieter/smaller. I don’t need opulence, but would prefer a full-service property. It would be great if we didn’t feel stuck on the resort, and I’d love to be near one of the quieter beaches, like Surin, Nai Yang, or Mai Khao (though that’s less important).

Budget is not too important.

I’ve considered The Slate (but doesn’t seem to have that much for older kids), Anantara Layan (active zone looks very cool), Centara Grand (seems too big).

I’ve thought about taking the boat to Krabi after Yao Noi just to explore a different part of Thailand. (We’ve been to Kho Lak before, though not Phuket proper.) But that seems maybe needlessly complicated, and perhaps Krabi is really just best for exploring the islands, which will have just been on.

Finally, one of the kids has celiac disease, so if you know of any hotel (or even restaurant) that is good with GF stuff, that would be amazing.

TL;DR: I’m afraid we’ll be tired of entertaining our young teens and are looking for a relaxing, quiet place to stay where there will be enough on hand for them to have some fun on their own, while we explore the area.
