Hat Yai Junction to Surat Thani by train – help needed

Hi,

I am looking to travel from Hat Yai junction to Surat Thani on the 16th however the D ticket website is only allowing me to select sleeping berths for seat selection.

I would prefer to select just a second class seat rather than a sleeper berth.

Does anyone know how to get round this and also could anyone give me help with boarding information at hat Yai junction, how long is the train stopped for, where do I put my bags etc.

This is my first time travelling by rail in Thailand so help is very much appreciated.
