The NESDC and ADB’s office in Thailand will together design environmental development and climate change operational plans to be implemented from 2023 to 2026, the council’s secretary-general Danucha Pichayanan told the Nation on Wednesday, adding that the programme could be extended if necessary.
The project will help fulfill the country’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality in 2050 and net zero emissions in 2065, he added.
The Thailand Green Incubator initiative will also select viable green development projects from partners that focus on nature rehabilitation, the blue economy, and biodiversity promotion, as well as identify sources of funding besides the government support for these projects.
