So something that I’ve come across a fair few times over the last month or two and though I’d post here to make people aware.
I’ve ordered a grab taxi for the driver to turn up and ask me to cancel the booking and pay cash for x reason. Of course if I cancel the booking I am liable for the fare which they get paid plus the cash I’ve paid essentially paying double. The first time it happened I obliged believing it to be a genuine issue for the driver but it’s happening very, very regularly during late night grab journeys. In short if your taxi driver asks you to cancel the booking and pay cash refuse to do so as you will be charged double the fare. If they want to be be paid in cash make sure that *they cancel the booking*. Do not cancel yourself and the pay cash or you will pay twice.
