‘Good news’: China okays Thai fruits

China has reopened all land border checkpoints to allow the import of Thai fruits, including durians, according to a Thai government official.

Border crossings of Thai fruits had been blocked by China for several days over Covid concerns.

Alongkorn Ponlaboot, adviser to the agriculture and cooperatives minister and a member of a committee of fruit development and management, gave details on the borders reopening.

“All border checkpoints including Youyi Guan, Dongxing, Mohan and Ping Xiang crossings have been reopened,” Mr Alongkorn said.

“It’s good news for farmers in Thailand, especially durian farm owners,” he said.
