TOKYO: Middleweight great Gennady Golovkin returns to the ring for the first time in 16 months on Saturday, where victory against Japan’s Ryota Murata could set up a long-awaited third fight against Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.
IBF champion “GGG” Golovkin (41-1-1, with 36 KOs) will face Murata (16-2), who holds the WBA version of the title, in a unification fight at Saitama, north of Tokyo.
