Golf is just a game so enjoy your time on the course

I was asked recently an honest and interesting question — “Has playing golf always been fun for you?”

I answered truthfully by saying that when I was a young boy starting out in the game, it was fun but then when results became extremely important the fun diminished.

The pressure of always having to bring in a respectable score whether it was just a game with members or a tournament changed the way I viewed the game.

However, my answer to the query came from just my personal perspective and others may have different feelings.

Ideally whether you are practising on the range or playing a round, you need to remember to always have fun.

This is a game!

Too many players take the game too seriously, and they wind up taking the fun out of the sport as a result.

I remember embracing the challenge of trying to achieve the handicap required to enter the game…
