Hi Thailand,
I’m half-thai, my mother was born in Bangkok and my father is born in NZ. My mother passed away in 2009, when I was around 19.
I’m looking to see if there’s still a way for me to gain a Thai passport. According the Thai embassy in NZ, only my mother or family of my mother can prove who I am (half Thai) to be able to register me as a Thai citizen.
I guess the problem is, I don’t know any of my mothers family in Thailand to be able to help me with this.
Backstory: I have visited Thailand for holidays/vacations and everytime local people always ask me why I don’t have a Thai passport when my mother is Thai. 🤦♂️ so here I am trying.
Does anyone have any advice as to what I could do from here, or is it basically a lost cause.
