Fixed broadband helps AIS revenue gain 2.3% to B186bn

Advanced Info Service (AIS), Thailand’s largest mobile operator by subscriber base, posted total revenue of 186 billion baht in 2022, up 2.3% year-on-year, buoyed by strong growth of fixed broadband income.

Revenue of the fixed broadband business under the AIS Fibre brand surged 19% year-on-year in 2022, outpacing the market growth rate, the firm reported.

With 390,000 customers added to AIS Fibre in 2022, the customer base rose to 2.2 million in total, with its subscriber market share reaching 16%.

According to AIS, the firm was the first in the country to introduce a fixed wireless access service utilising 5G mmWave technology.

The company was also the first player in Thailand to provide an internet speed of 2 gigabits per second (Gbps).
