Fears for British woman missing in sea in Thailand


Fears are mounting over the fate of a British woman still unaccounted for more than a day after a scuba vessel sank off the coast of Thailand.

Millie Young, a British woman from Brighton, and a female Thai crew member were on a diving tour when the boat ran into trouble in the choppy waters around the Surin Islands archipelago in southern Thailand.

After taking on water, the vessel sank at about 9am on Saturday, after officials had received a mayday call from the boat, the Reggae Queen. While the rest of the 18 passengers aboard the vessel were pulled to safety on a passing fishing trawler, it is thought that Young and the crew member were dragged out to sea on a current.
