Sri Racha –

At 00:30 AM, on September 24th, 2023, Nong Kham Police Station received an injury report on Laem Chabang – Map Iang Road, Sri Racha District, Chonburi Province.

A rescue squad was immediately dispatched to the scene and Mr. Niphon Charoenkham, 45 years old, and Mr. Tontrakarn Bunprasert, 21 years old, were found unconscious on the ground.

The rescue team performed CPR to revive Mr. Niphon, however, it was not successful, and ambulances were called to transfer the wounded to Laem Chabang Hospital shortly after. Unfortunately, Mr. Niphon was later announced deceased due to fatal wounds to his head.

An unidentified witness said to the rescue squad that there were an estimated 50 motorcycles racing before the accident. On the scene, Mr. Niphon was seated behind one of the motorcycles, but he fell from the passenger seat, and his head severely hit the ground, leading to his death. He was not wearing a protective motorbike helmet.

Additionally, about 500 meters away from the first accident, Mr. Tontrakarn Bunprasert, 21 years old, crashed his motorcycle and was run over his neck and torso by the racing motorcycles. The rescue squad performed first aid and CPR, then transferred the wounded to Laem Chabang Hospital as well.

“During the incident period, many young bikers, estimated at 50 motorcycles, gathered to hold a race. However, no one stopped to look after the wounded friends as they were scared of the police,” said the rescue squad.
