Exploring the Mae Hong Son Loop: Seeking Tips and Recommendations

Hey there fellow adventurer!

Next week, I’m setting off to do the Mae Hong Son loop and I could use some tips from someone who’s been there, done that. I plan to take my time and spend about a week or so completing the trip.

First up, I want to add some hiking and possibly camping to the mix. Do you have any favourite spots or parks you’d recommend for this? I don’t have a PLB with me, so I’m not comfortable exploring on my own. Is it easy to find a guide, and where’s the best place to look?

I’m also trying to decide between renting a scooter or a bike. A scooter seems more practical for carrying my gear, but a bike seems like more fun. I’m comfortable on a bike and have some experience riding motorbikes, but I wouldn’t call myself a pro. Do you have any advice on this front?

Last but not least, what are some must-do activities along the way? I already have a few on my list, like visiting the Myanmar Scenic Border, and the Mae La Na Caves. Any other suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!
