Ex-Husband Murdered by Ex-Wife’s New Boyfriend in Sattahip

Sattahip —

A fatal assault took place in the Sattahip district of Chonburi province on December 21st, claiming the life of a 43-year-old ex-husband at the hands of his past love’s new boyfriend.

The assault took place in the Nong Kra Chong community of Sattahip district, Chonburi province, on Thursday evening. The victim, identified as 43-year-old Mr. Tawee Muhuana, was found dead on the roadside of Soi Samnak Song with severe neck injuries. His ex-wife, Ms. Thongkorn (last name withheld to protect her privacy), and their young son were present at the scene, grieving over the incident.

Later that evening, Sattahip authorities arrested Mr. Jedsada Dasrijan, 38, the victim’s ex-wife’s new boyfriend, on charges of murder and drug abuse . Police seized evidence from the scene, including a 45-cm-long knife, another knife, and a large wooden stick.

Mr. Jedsada admitted to using the knife to assault the victim but claimed that it was in self-defense after the two had a fight. He alleged that he approached Mr. Tawee to discuss childcare arrangements for Mr. Tawee’s son after the latter reportedly broke up with Ms. Thongkorn.

Initially, the conversation seemed to go well, but tensions rose after Mr. Jedsada and Mr. Tawee consumed alcohol and brought up their past issues. The suspect alleged that the victim insulted him and his mother, triggering the fight. Mr. Tawee reportedly initiated the physical assault by striking Mr. Jedsada in the head with a stick, prompting Mr. Jetsada to defend himself with the knife. The suspect struck the long knife against Mr. Tawee’s neck, which instantly killed him. Jedsada expressed remorse for his actions but claimed that he was also physically assaulted twice by the victim before this tragedy.

Sattahip police took Mr. Jedsada to the hospital for treatment of his injuries before transporting him to the Sattahip Police Station for legal proceedings.
