Chonburi —
Signs warning people not to touch the rails of a footbridge due to electrical leakage have prompted calls for authorities in Phan Thong to conduct urgent repairs.
Local residents in Chonburi’s Phan Thong district are urging relevant authorities to address an electrical leakage at a footbridge to prevent a potential electrical hazard. The hazardous bridge, located near Phan Thong Tonson School, is regularly used by numerous young students.
The leakage appears to stem from a tangle of wires wrapped around one of the iron rails of the bridge. Makeshift paper signs have been posted at the bridge’s base to warn people against making contact with the rails.
Unthika, a student at Phan Thong Tonson School, stated to the associated Thai media that she felt unsafe because she uses this particular bridge every day. “I want the responsible authorities to fix it,” she said to the local media.
Another local resident, Mr. Phongsak, disclosed that several people have experienced electrical shocks from touching the rail. He is urging authorities to take immediate action, expressing concerns that more people might get injured if they cross the bridge during rainy weather.
