Eight protesters granted bail

The Criminal Court has granted bail to eight pro-democracy activists of the People’s Movement who took part in a demonstration at the Democracy Monument on Feb 13 and were arrested by Chanasongkhram police.

The eight suspects – Jitrakorn Jackobi Jr, Pornprom Kongtrakul, Pathakorn Japorn, Thongnopklao Jaithai, Thanadet Wanphoklang, Adisak Phala, Chainarong Sompolkrang and Purapol Wongchiak –  were charged with violating the Public Assembly Act and the emergency decree.

They were handed over to Chanasongkhram police investigators about 3am on Feb 14. Police are empowered to detain them for 48 hours for completion of their investigation.
