Earthquake in Myanmar felt across 10 Bangkok provinces

A 6.4-magnitude earthquake in Myanmar shook 10 provinces in Thailand.

The Earthquake Monitoring Center reports on Friday morning that a strong earthquake occurred in the town of Keng Tung, in Myanmar’s Shan State. The quake was felt in the Thailand provinces of Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son, Phayao, Lampang, Lamphun, Nan, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, and Bangkok.

The epicenter was approximately 100 kilometers northwest of Mae Sai District, in Thailand’s northern Chiang Rai province. Some schools in Chiang Rai evacuated students to gather in open areas outside buildings. The Mae Fah Luang hospital and Mae Fah Luang airport also evacuated people.
