Pattaya —

Three people were injured early Wednesday morning in a motorcycle accident near a U-turn in Naklua, North Pattaya.

At around 3:30 AM on January 31st, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation received a report of a collision between a red Honda PCX motorcycle and a blue Suzuki Step 125 motorcycle with a sidecar.

Upon arrival, rescue volunteers found the scene littered with debris. The Honda PCX, bearing a Chonburi license plate, sustained front-end damage. Its rider, identified as 18-year-old Thai national Mr. Piyaphong Rakmak, lay injured in the middle of the road.

The Suzuki Step 125, also with a Chonburi license plate, bore damage to its side. The driver, Mr. Vireak Touch, 29, from Cambodia, and the passenger, Mr. Phorn PW, 38, also from Cambodia, both sustained injuries, Mr. Vireak seriously. The three injured motorists were transferred to a nearby hospital.

According to Mr. Phorn, the accident occurred as he was returning from the market with Mr. Vireak. They were attempting to make a U-turn when the Honda PCX, which was travelling at high speed according to Mr. Phorn’s claim, collided into them. The impact threw Mr. Vireak from his motorcycle, resulting in his serious injuries.

Police are investigating the exact cause of the accident and are expected to interview both drivers involved when their medical conditions allow.
