After spending some time in BKK and Chiang Mai I think decent condo’s are more expensive in Chiang Mai, when comparing like for like. Does anyone else have an opinion on this?
Edit: I am mostly referring to rental prices.
While there is a lot available at the low end in Chiang Mai, If you want something modern, larger than 45sqm, or a 2br, or anything western style in a good location you will pay just as much as a new building in downtown Bangkok.
I find this weird as the land value is probably a fraction of Bangkok. I guess it’s probably a much smaller market and prices jump quicker for the smaller amount of nicer places. But it still seems weird to me due to the lower land values.
