Disgraced Bangkok footballer to appeal 3-year ban

A footballer said he plans to appeal a Thai Football Association ban from the sport after he brutally attacked an on-field rival.

Aitsaret Noichaiboon has told reporters that the association banned him from competing professionally for three years. The 29-year-old said he was remorseful, and wanted forgiveness and mercy from the association to salvage his career.

“I am remorseful for what I have done out of recklessness,” Aitsaret told Kom Chad Luek. “But I still love my football career. I want to ask for mercy, and hope the Football Association of Thailand consider and review this case.” 

“However, I am ready to be helped liable but I wish I could continue to be a professional footballer. I am ready to improve myself and this behavior will never happen again,” Aitsaret said.
