If you are unable to decide where to go for your next adventure, we suggest Chiang Mai in Thailand. Sri Lanna National Park in Chiang Mai has a unique attraction that will definitely add a lot of fun to your Thailand trip. One of the most interesting features of Sri Lanna National Park is Namtok Bua Tong, also known as the Sticky Waterfall.

Sri Lanna National Park is located just 54 km from outside of Chiang Mai, making it an easy day trip from the city.

What makes this waterfall special is its unusual feature – the limestone rocks and mineral deposits in the water make it possible for visitors to climb up the waterfall without slipping. Though the climb is not a child’s play, it is also not so problematic. There are ropes to help visitors climb this unique waterfall.

Waterfalls are great tourist attractions but it is not everyday that you get to climb a waterfall, mainly because of the cascading water and the slippery surface. Well, things are a bit different at Namtok Bua Tong. Here, the rocks are covered with a layer of calcium and other mineral deposits. This gives the rocks a rough and grippy texture.

Though the climb is steep in some places, most of the climb can be easily done with just a little help of rope and proper climbing shoes. There are no algae or slime deposits on the rocks so it naturally becomes an easy climb.
