Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand signs the Thailand – Sri Lanka Air Services Agreement

On 3 February 2024, H.E. Mr. Srettha Thavisin Prime Minister witnessed the signing of the Thailand – Sri Lanka Air Services Agreement by H.E. Mr. Jakkapong Sangmanee, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and Hon. Niletthi Nimal Siripala De Silva, Minister of Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation. The Agreement will play a key role in facilitating bilateral tourism, trade, people-to-people contact and logistics.

On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce and Hon. Kachchakaduge Nalin Ruwanjeewa Fernando, Minister of Commerce, Trade and Food security of Sri Lanka also signed the Thailand – Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement which is the first FTA being signed by the current administration.

In addition, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand and the Gem and Jewellery Research and Training Institute of Sri Lanka was also signed.
