Dechapol and Sapsiree find going easy

Mixed doubles stars Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Sapsiree Taerattanachai moved into the second round of the US$2 million China Open in Changzhou on Tuesday.

The fourth-seeded Thai duo defeated Gregory Mairs and Jenny Mairs of England 21-14, 21-8 in their opening match of the BWF World Tour Super 1000 event.

However, fellow Thais Pornpawee Chochuwong and Busanan Ongbamrungphan bowed out at the first hurdle in the women’s singles on Tuesday.

Busanan lost to China’s Zhang Yiman 18-21, 14-21 while Pornpawee was also beaten by home player Han Yue 19-21, 17-21.
