Forty-nine people were killed and 379 injured in road accidents on Saturday, bringing the total over the past five days of a road safety campaign to 316 deaths and 2,741 injuries.
The Road Safety Directing Centre said on Sunday 49 people were killed and 379 injured on Thailand’s roads on Saturday as the New Year holidays came close to an end.
Nakhon Ratchasima, the gateway to other northeastern provinces, led the death toll at 16 and Chiang Mai topped both the number of accidents at 97 and the tally of injured at 99.
