Covid infection rate steady with 8,444 new cases Sunday

The government on Sunday announced 8,444 more Covid-19 cases, maintaining the range of 6,000-9,000 infections per day since Jan 7, along with 12 new fatalities.

This compared with the 8,618 new cases and 19 fatalities reported on Saturday morning.

The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration said on Sunday afternoon that the 12 new fatalities were between the ages of 55 and 83, all Thai nationals.

Bangkok logged the most new deaths at two, followed by one each in Samut Prakan, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Ubon Ratchathani, Chiang Mai, Nakhon Sawan, Chumphon, Yala and Ayutthaya.
