Cops to manage traffic near schools

Campuses ready to welcome students

About 3,000 police will be deployed to manage road traffic in Bangkok as schools reopen today after a one-month closure to curb the spread of Covid-19 infections.

All schools that have reopened are in full gear to keep the virus off their premises.

Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner Jirasan Kaewsaeng-ek said he had instructed 3,000 traffic police to liaise with schools in their precincts.

Officers will be at their stations at 5am for the morning rush hour to ease the flow of traffic, especially along roads where many schools are located, Pol Maj Gen Jirasan said.
