Coneheads returns to Oneida NY with Lenox Avenue ice cream parlor

A longtime sweet tradition has come back to Oneida as Coneheads Ice Cream made its triumphant return July 24 to an appreciative crowd of fans both old and new – plus their four-legged companions.

“I’ve wanted to go back to Oneida for quite some time,” said owner Adam Behr, who runs the business with wife, Samantha. “I saw this location right on the (Oneida Rail Trail) and knew it was the right place for us. I had a vision and it has all really come together.”

“We are really excited about this and happy to be open,” Samantha added.

Adam’s dad, Jeff Behr, opened the original Coneheads in 1976 on the corner of Lenox Avenue and Stephens Street in Oneida. It ran for 30 years before he sold the business and moved to Florida in 2006, starting Coneheads South in DeLand. But the ice cream business in Florida was not what it was here so he returned, opening a new Coneheads North in…
