Flip through the pages of American and Thai comic books and learn their storied histories at a two-day festival coming to the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre.
On the heels of a comics exhibition opening Tuesday, guest artists will be on hand May 14 and 15 at a nerd gathering where industry and academic speakers will discuss the art form.
May 14 will feature conversations about the history of Thai and American newspaper comics led by a Chulalongkorn University professor and the editor of newspaper comics publisher Sunday Press Books, respectively. South East Asian publishers will sit for a roundtable on the state of the industry.
Learn how to make comics at a workshop taught by award-winning Thai manga artist Jeeno (Juice), and then participate in a live drawing of panels for a large comic book page.
