In a heart-breaking story, a thief broke into a rental room in Na Jomtien and stole piggy banks belonging to a 4-year-old child along with other valuables worth over 100,000 baht. The incident left the child traumatized, according to reports.
The thievery occurred in the Baan Eua-Athorn Na Jomtien housing project within the Na Jomtien sub-district of Banglamung district, Chonburi province. Upon receiving the report on Sunday, June 2nd, police immediately rushed to the scene.
At the rental room, police talked with the victim, Ms. Nisachon Charoenpong, 26, who revealed her room had been broken into by a thief. She led the police officers inside the room to point out the location where the thief stole three piggy banks from her 4-year-old child and other valuable items worth over 100,000 baht.
Ms. Nisachon revealed she and her child were not in the room when the thief broke into it around 5 PM on July 1st. She returned to her room at 5:00 AM on the next day only to find that the locked door was left open and the lights inside the room were on.
Her child, whose name has been withheld by The Pattaya News due to his age, had been diligently saving from his school allowance. After the incident, he was reportedly traumatized by what had happened, as he refused to speak.
Ms. Nisachon urged the police to arrest the suspect as soon as possible. She also wanted to see the caretaker of the housing project install more CCTV cameras to prevent a recurrence.
