Coin-Operated Laundry Robbed in Chonburi

Chonburi —

A brazen robbery occurred at a coin-operated laundry business in the Nong Pla Lai area of Banglamung district, Chonburi province, on the night of October 19th, 2023. Two male suspects were caught on surveillance cameras breaking into the establishment and stealing coins from three coin-operated machines.

The owner’s grandmother, name withheld, who was sleeping in the back of the shop, was alerted by the commotion but the robbers had already fled by the time she came out to investigate. The surveillance footage showed the two suspects arriving on a motorcycle, inspecting the coin-operated machines, and forcibly opening three of them. After the robbery, one of the suspects waited while the other fled in a vehicle.

The victim, identified only as Ms. Sukhsawat, expressed her concern about the ongoing criminal activity targeting coin-operated businesses in the area. She highlighted that the police have not yet been able to apprehend the perpetrators, forcing some business owners to relocate due to repeated incidents.

Ms. Sukhsawat urged law enforcement to diligently track down and apprehend the criminals, as there is fear they may strike elsewhere. She also advised fellow business owners in coin-operated services to be vigilant, as this incident occurred right next to her residence, and the robbers were not deterred by the presence of surveillance cameras.
