Clash of contenders as BG hoping to cruise past Port

BG Pathum United host Port in Thai League 1 on Wednesday in a clash of title contenders.

Both have played only three games, two fewer than the other teams.

Big-spending Port have seven points, while Pathum, last season’s runners-up, have four.

Bangkok United and Ratchaburi are joint leaders on 13 points.

BG started the season with one loss and one draw before securing their first win with a 1-0 victory over Lamphun on Friday.

Pathum coach Makoto Teguramori said he hopes his men seal back-to-back wins.

“I have told my players that it was a hard-fought win against Lamphun and we were lucky to beat them,” the Japanese said.
