Sleigh bells ring, are you listening? Even though there’s no snow here in Thailand, we, in fact, do, celebrate Christmas. Sure, it’s not really based or rooted in christian traditions (Thailand is approximately 85% buddhist, 14% islamic and only 1% ‘the rest’) the joy and spirit of the most joyful of seasons of the year can be felt nevertheless. With Christmas being a working day in Thailand comes a huge benefit: Shops are open so there’s no need for desperation buys at the gas station. Yay! ????
Awesome weather
The number one reason to spend Christmas in Thailand is, obviously, the weather. Let’s be honest here for a second, who really enjoys the rainy cold? Sure snow is cool (ha!) but the weeks before and after those three days of white beauty are just terrible. Rain, mud, sickness. Uff! In Thailand however ‘winter’ is the best time of the year.
