Chonburi —

Multiple homeowners in Chonburi’s Mueang district are calling for the police to catch a group of burglars who stole millions of baht worth of valuables from their houses in December of last year, 2023.

Residents of Moo 7 in Napa remain shaken after a string of burglaries targeted their homes. One homeowner, Mr. Por (pseudonym), spoke to local reporters, detailing the theft at his two-story townhouse that occurred on the night of December 28th.

He stated that three thieves broke into his house and ransacked through his belongings in the living room and bedroom. They took many precious items from Mr. Por, such as gold, amulets, luxury bags, and even his child’s school bag that they used to carry the stolen items after dumping his kid’s books and school gadgets on the floor.

“Three residences were broken into that day,” Mr. Por stated. “I lost a total of 1.2 million baht.”

The thieves, suspected to have entered through the back gates of Mr. Por’s house which connected to a thick banana garden, then moved on to two other houses in the vicinity. One homeowner reported losing 500,000 baht in cash, a firearm, and a Rolex watch, while another mourned the theft of gold weighing over 14 baht. The combined losses from all three burglaries exceeded 5 million baht.

Fearing the stolen valuables may be lost forever if the perpetrators remain at large, Mr. Por urged the Chonburi police to take swift action. He emphasized the urgency of apprehending the culprits to prevent similar incidents from plaguing the community in the future.
