Chinese Tourist in Distress: Self-Harm Incident Unfolds on Sukhumvit Road, Pattaya






Pattaya—

At 12:40 PM, on January 20th, 2024, Pattaya tourist police received a report of a Chinese person committing self-harm on Sukhumvit Road, near the Central Pattaya red light intersection, Pattaya.

The Pattaya police and rescue teams were dispatched to the incident scene and found a Chinese person on a rampage using a rock to hit his head causing a head injury and with blood covering his face.


The police rushed to subdue him shortly before the rescue teams performed first aid and transferred the Chinese person to Pattaya Memorial Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Initially, the Chinese person, whose name was withheld by TPN Media due to his mental health, 42, had an expired passport, according to the police.

The Chinese person reportedly told the police through an interpreter that he was allegedly invited to an event by his Chinese friends and took illicit substances causing hallucinations leading to the incident.
