Chinese measures cheer investors

RECAP: Asian shares edged higher yesterday as China stepped up efforts to support the property sector and stabilise the yuan, though investors remained cautious ahead of US jobs data that could influence interest rates.

Thai shares moved in a range of 1,559.20 and 1,579.43 points this week before closing yesterday at 1,561.51, up 0.08% from the previous week, in daily turnover averaging 56.12 billion baht.

Institutions were net buyers of 4.3 billion baht, followed by brokers at 1.33 billion. Foreign investors were net sellers of 4.22 billion baht and retail investors sold 1.4 billion baht worth of shares.
