Chen Yufei was crowned the women’s singles champion after her opponent Han Yue retired in the final of the US$1 million China Masters in Shenzhen yesterday.
Olympic gold medallist Chen won the second game 21-4 after losing the first 18-21 when Han called it quits before the start of the third game of the World Tour Super 750 event.
It was Chen’s fourth title of the year and her third Super 750 crown. Her other victories this year were at the Indonesia Open, the Denmark Open and the French Open.
