Chiang Mai in Late February

Hi all,

I’m going to Thailand in late February with my husband. I’ve heard a lot about the burning season in Chiang Mai and we’re very worried about it, but would love to not skip it entirely. How bad is it in late Feb? Are we risking it? Is there a way to do Chiang Mai without doing activities that are focused on the outdoors (cooking class, food tours, etc)? Would it be okay to do Elephant Nature Park during that time?
