Chiang Mai for 8 days

Hello! I’ll be in chiang mai next week. I hear it’s the rainy season. Could I check how heavy is it?

Also suggestions would be great. I was initially gonna do a qigong class from Mon to Fri but classes are till 10 am and I worry that it leaves very little time for day trips to mountainous bits and pai etc. Has anyone tried it before and am I better off just doing qigong on YouTube lol.

I had also initially planned to go yo the mountainous bits but since it’s the rainy season, are there any treks that are safe and easy enough to do? Or would you scrap treks entirely? The reason for the treks is cos I wanted to do a glamping thing at one of the mountains.

That’s pretty much it.
– I’m deciding about elephant sanctuary. Not sure I want to visit.
-! Definitely don’t want to do a cooking class.
– would love suggestions on mixologist or hidden bars
– contemplating doing zipline but I’m not sure about this during the rainy season.
– in an ideal world I’d love to do waterfalls. I don’t have a motorbike license and would rely quote heavily on public transport.

I’d also like to do pai canyon and visit chiang rai. How would you split 8 days between chiang mai; pai and chiang rai. I’ve bookmarked places on Google maps but I’m not sure how to connect it yet.
