Chiang Mai, Bangkok among world’s vegetarian-friendly cities: study

The animals and climate thank you, Chiang Mai! You too, Bangkok!

The northern province of Chiang Mai was named the world’s 36th best place for vegetarians, while the capital city ranked 73rd on a global index of the most vegetarian-friendly cities.

Those rankings come via the Vegetarian Cities Index, published by a Berlin housing platform Nestpick, which listed 75 cities topped by London, Berlin and Munich. 

“With more and more people looking to reduce their meat consumption, cities must cater to these needs with diverse vegetarian offerings if they want to attract young talent, particularly Millennials, Gen Z, and the even younger generations to come,” said Nestpick founder Omer Kucukdere. “We hope that this index can inspire vegetarians looking to move abroad to pick the right city for their needs, or even offer travel destination ideas for those searching…
