Chachoengsao Day Trip, Train, Boat, Market, Temples and Giant Bats
Lots to see and do on this trip outside of Bangkok

Chachoengsao is a great place to visit for a day trip if you want to escape the city
Train ride on the overland Thai train, quirky and beautiful temples, riverside markets, A boat ride, giant bats, chilled cafe and A Thai national to guide us.

1. Our journey will begin by catching the overland train in Phaya Thai – a little know stop below the bts. A real taste of Thai life on the trains and lots to see as the train leaves the city and rambles into the country side. (About 1hr 20 to 30 minutes)
2. Our transport will meet us at the end of the train ride first stop will be a short visit to the beautiful Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan which is set next to the river.
3. Next we will go to Ban Mai old town riverside market. Here you can grab lots of tasty treats for lunch, shop sit and eat or relax in the very chilled Brown House Cafe.
4. Our next stop is Wat Pak Nam Jolo. Here we will go on a short boat trip to search out the big “chicken bats” that hang from the trees on an island in the river (subject to availability/weather on the day as it cannot be pre- booked).
5. Next Wat Saman Rattanaram – a large area with quirky statues and a big market area – it is home to a large, bright pink, reclining Ganesha, which is certainly worth a photo or two! It also has a large market area for souvenirs and some restaurants. There are a wide variety of colourful statues here and it’s a really unique place to explore.
6. Finally we head back to the train station to get our train back to Bangkok. Approx arrival: 19:30 pm

   Includes:
   • all transport costs and a private driver and transport to get us around the attractions at chachoengsao and someone to guide you around (The host Phatcharakoraphot (Kun R) who can also give information and translate)
   • the chicken bat boat ride (subject to availability/weather on the day as it cannot be pre- booked).
   Not included:
   food, insurance, entrance to locations not on the itinerary.
   Payment: Fully a deposit price of 790 thb is needed to reserve a place. This should be paid following an RSVP to reserve space. Sorry, but this is to ensure that the transport costs are still covered if people drop out.

   The meet up needs a minimum of 5 people (Excluding the host and Organiser – Kun R deposits will be refunded if this number is not met.
   When surveying the trip the trains all ran on time – but please do be aware that timings are approximate.
   Bring water and sunscreen – possibly an umbrella.
