Thailand beat Myanmar 2-0 in Manila to reach the final of the AFF Women’s Championship yesterday.
In the semi-finals of the Southeast Asian championship, Thailand’s Kanyanat Chetthabutr blew several chances before finding the back of the net just before half-time at Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Myanmar started strongly in the second half as Thailand goalkeeper Chotmanee Thongmongkol was forced to make a couple of good saves.
Myanmar dominated for long periods but the Chaba Kaew got their second goal from substitute Saowalak Pengngam in the 82nd minute to put the match beyond Myanmar’s reach.
