Cambodia to Thailand: Alpha variant didn’t come from us

PHNOM PENH: Dr. Or Vandine, spokesman for the Ministry of Health of Cambodia, has denied reports by Thai media that Cambodia is the source of the “Alpha virus” mutation that is currently rampant in Thailand.

The report, published in The Bangkok Post, said that “the first cluster during the third outbreak of infections was centered on the upscale entertainment district of Thong Lor. The Alpha variant is believed to have spread from Cambodia.”
