Buriram’s defensive ploy in Angels victory slammed

Thai League 1 champions Buriram United extended their lead to four points after defeating closest rivals Bangkok United 1-0 on Sunday night.

Suphanat Mueanta scored the winner for the Thunder Castle after nine minutes at Chang Arena.

Buriram bounced back after they were held to a 1-1 draw by lowly Khon Kaen United last week.

After 11 games, Buriram have 27 points, ahead of the capital side and Chonburi who both have 23 points.

Buriram sat back to defend the lead after surging ahead and Bangkok United coach Aurelio Vidmar was not impressed by their tactics.
