Brewer-politician Taopiphop to reopen his bar Friday in Bangkok (again)

A brewing crusader who entered politics to decriminalize homebrew will reopen his Bangkok craft beer bar – this time on the west side of town.

Opposition lawmaker Taopiphop Limkittrakorn announced today that he will reopen his Taopiphop Bar Project this Friday on the Thonburi side of the river in the Khlong San area, near the King Taksin Monument on Charoen Rat Road.

Expect laid-back vibes and plenty of quality craft beers – and possibly some encounters with the Move Forward Party lawmaker.

Before he became a progressive-minded MP advocating for pro-brewer reforms, Taopiphop was a brewer who made headlines when he was arrested for making and selling beer at home. His previous two bars – Taopiphop Bar Project in Nonthaburi and Bad Taste Cafe in the Lat Phrao area – both closed.
