Warin Lab Contemporary is holding “Second Life”, a collaborative exhibition that breathes a new life to retired artwork, until Oct 10.
On showcase is an installation by textile artist Jarupatcha Achavasmit who took the artwork from last year’s photographic exhibition, “Chronicle Of The Landscape” by Sakarin Krue-On, onto her loom and weaved into it a new life.
With her talent for integrating shards into shapes, she deconstructed exhibit materials and reconstructed them anew. The materials include large-size printed canvases of Sakarin’s high-resolution photographs that depict the landscape of Ratchaburi province.
With every strand that constitutes a whole weave, her approach tends to focus on small-scale details, and then proceed to arrange their placement into a big picture. For her, every whole comprises a multitude of fragments. She witnesses their delineation and…
