Border patrol chief graft probe to wrap up soon

An investigation into a complaint against a border patrol police commander accused of demanding payments from his subordinates is expected to be wrapped up in five days, according to the inspector-general in charge of the probe.

Pol Gen Wissanu Prasartthong-osod said yesterday an unsigned letter was submitted by a complainant, who is a border patrol police officer, to the Border Patrol Police (BPP) commissioner Pol Lt Gen Wichit Paksa.

The inspector-general said the national police chief Pol Gen Suwat Jangyodsuk has assigned him to lead a fact-finding panel into the complaint. The panel will work in parallel to another investigation committee on the matter set up by Pol Lt Gen Wichit.
