I’m a foreigner looking into owning land in Phuket and heard about the BOI Company structure for foreign ownership and investment. According to the BOI (Thai Board of Investment), a BOI company can be 100% foreign owned and land in Thai would be permitted to be owned under the BOI company. However, I want to understand whether the BOI company has be formed first in order to buy the land or should the land be purchased first before forming the BOI company to have the land transferred to it?
