BMA mulling distribution of fourth booster shots

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is planning a fourth booster shot against Covid-19 for members of three at-risk groups.

Bangkok governor Aswin Kwanmuang said the vaccine rollout is meant for medical personnel, frontline workers and people living with chronic diseases, and the initiative can start once it is approved by the Public Health Ministry’s Department of Disease Control.

Pol Gen Aswin said the BMA has details for these groups stored in a database, so vaccines can be allocated to service agencies and their distribution can be planned immediately. He said the BMA’s vaccination programme is being carried out in line with DDC guidelines.

According to the DDC, recipients of mixed Sinovac-AstraZeneca doses and two inactivated vaccines would receive a third shot of AstraZeneca. Recipients of two shots of AstraZeneca would get a Pfizer booster shot,…
