I have a bird’s nest with 3 eggs in it on my balcony. These birds are spooked easily and fly away fast so it is hard to take a picture. I have been trying a motion sensor camera with little success.
There are two water jasmine plants with different style nests in them as seen in the pictures. One is made of ‘furry’ grass and is completely enclosed except for the entrance hole. The other is cup style made of twigs and mud.
The bird has a black head with a crown sometimes. Brown body and the belly is more gray like and I catch a glimpse of red underneath the tail.
Any idea what kind of bird this is? Last year I had small sparrows.
