Behind doors forced shut, Charoen Krung’s tiki bar shifts to squeezing juice

With Bangkok bars closed yet again – and no reopening date on the horizon, or even a government stipend to compensate them — rum-oriented tiki bar Tropic City has come up with a fresh way to make a living: Instead of shaking drinks, they’re squeezing juices. 

The Charoen Krung bar’s new juice delivery service, dubbed Juicy, sees the bar crew making fresh, hand-pressed juices without added sugar.

There are six juices on the menu: orange; pineapple; watermelon; apple; carrot, orange and turmeric; and pineapple, apple and ginger. They are available in two sizes, To-Go (300 milliliters) and To-Share (1 liter), and can be delivered citywide. 

Orders can be made one day in advance via direct message to Tropic City’s Instagram and Facebook. They deliver every Monday, Thursday and Saturday. Delivery is free for those living in the Chinatown, Asoke, Sathorn and Ari…
